Another fashion week came to a close yesterday in Milan, leaving us to pour over the photos in search of next seasons key trends. With shows from loads of big names such as Giorgio Armani, Prada, Versace, Moschino and Missoni, we can't cover all the catwalks here, but here are our highlights, and how they'll affect the way we dress:
All stomachs were on show at Roberto Cavalli, with tiny crop tops paired with low slung, skin tight, snakeskin hipsters and maxi skirts. Not the easiest look to pull off, but hippie fringing, macrame and slouchy shoulder bags gave the collection a seventies feel we'll all be imitating next spring.
Prada went back to basics with simple fabrics, shapes and colours. We love the drawn-on look of the details, especially this cute monkey motif top. And we can't help hoping that giant stripy sombreros will be spring's surprise must-have accessory!
Moschino's collection was full of energy, with high-impact red, white and blue, full skirts and ruffles creating movement, and spots and stripes adding a playful touch. We'll be getting the look with rosettes, bows and cowboy hats.
Dolce & Gabanna
White, white and more white was the theme at Dolce & Gabanna, where we saw a demonstration of the versatility of Sicilian lace. From tailored sheath dresses to petticoat inspired maxis to peasant style smock tops, we saw a hundred ways to wear this trend.
