Don't be fooled by the heatwave, the cold weather is just around the corner and our must-have this month is the minimal coat.

After this summer's surprise hit print - lemons - it seems that everyone wants to be the next trendsetter, as we spotted loads of vibrant, unusual patterns on the Milan SS12 catwalks.
Here are a few of our favourites:
Vegetables
The natural successor to fruit prints, we can see the Dolce and Gabbana pepper print being a big hit.
Under the Sea
Versace created a mermaid look with starfish, seahorse and oyster prints, which we think would be a great choice for next year's summer holiday.
Daisies
Every summer florals are huge, so there were loads of different kinds in all the SS12 shows, but daisies seemed to dominate, especially at Moschino.
Cars
The most unusual print of course was at Prada. This retro car print was cute, playful and stylish - we can't wait to wear it.

With all the excitement about the Look Show last weekend, we haven't given as much attention to London Fashion Week as we usually would here on Style HQ.
We'd love to hear what you thought - which shows were your favourites, who you were surprised by, and the trends that leapt out at you - so do leave us a comment.

We loved the Giles collection and the futuristic feel it got from silver lame and transparent layers, but the intricacy of this dress in laser cut silver leather really stood out for us.
For a more everyday look, we can totally see ourselves in this outfit from Acne. It's the perfect springtime colour with a gorgeous full skirt we're sure we'll be seeing a lot of next season.
Part bird of paradise and part exotic flower, we fell in love with this assymmetric dress. As always, Mary Katranzou's prints were some of our standouts of the week.
There were plenty of menswear references in JW Anderson's first womenswear show, and lots of patchwork effects with mixedm aterials and prints. This dress was one of our highlights.
With dramatic shapes and bright block colours, we think you'd love the collection from Roksanda Ilincic - it had a lot in common with one of our favourite DP brands, Closet.
The Richard Nicholl show was packed with baby blue and pink, sixties references and fab wet look pieces like this a-line top. Paired with a cute mini skirt, it's just the right balance of retro and modern.

We'd heard that there was the new fashionable flat of choice, but after recent flings with loafers and brogues, we still weren't convinced that anything could tear us away permanently from our ballet pumps.
So we took talk of the new 'smoking slippers' with a pinch of salt... that is, until we saw pop princess and style icon Pixie Lott in a pair:
Combining leopard print smoking slippers with purple hotpants, a rainbow leotard and a bow tie definitely shouldn't work - but we think she looks fab! And we've got to admit, no other pair of flats would work in quite the same way.
